Summer

Although Summer is still a week away we are feeling it today...heat that seeps to the bone and plants that need watering twice a day.  Because we have a small pond and stream in our back yard it has become a haven for the birds.  I still cannot stop myself from picking up a plant here and there and not only do we have wonderful garden centers but also every grocery store sells plants.  The heat is keeping inside a bit more and thus my stitching and reading is on the uptick.

My library audio book is the latest Dan Brown book...but, here is the thing....since it is an audio book I cannot see Robert Langdon as anyone other than Tom Hanks!  He did such a wonderful job at playing Robert Langdon in the movie versions of previous Dan Brown novels.  I think it must present a challenge for the movie industry to decide who will be the next 007...or Harry Potter's Dumbledore.  We become  attached to those characters and the actors who portray  them.  Anywhoooo....I have been enjoying this read.

I though I could use a light read and thought I would give this book a look see...the commitment is still out on whether I will finish it...so far has not grabbed me.  Have you read it?  should I keep reading?

Our street is being patched today so there is an aroma of hot tar in the air and we are somewhat trapped...not really but it seems that way, lol  I was hoping to have some friends over for a Hexie day but turns out there is no street parking today...which means I may actually get some hexies done rather than socializing LOL.

 

We started watching a new series on TV last night and the jury is still out on it...A Sci Fi series

The Boroughs...it is about a retirement community.  Yes!  I said Sci Fi and I was torn between being intrigued by the Sci Fi aspect and fear at someday choosing to live in such a community.  Have you been watching it?
