A Learning Experience

This camping adventure has been such a learning experience on so many levels.  G and I have come to realize how little we need to bring peace and contentment in our lives. All I need is a needle and thread and all he needs is some sunshine and an instrument to play.  And it seems...we have created a life where there are friends just around the corner...old friends...

...and new friends, LOL

I stepped on the streetcar this week and a woman said...I know you :) I said really?!...from where?... and she said from Quilt Roadies...I had an immediate sense of how blessed my life is and how wonderful it is to make these connections solely based on a needle and thread.

I am especially grateful to have reconnected with Marion who I meet a couple of years ago in Denver, Colorado and who is now a part of the quilting and cross stitch community in Oregon.  She has been so gracious in introducing me to her friends who I feel an immediate connection too.  And although I have been cross stitching a bit here and there for years it is now an exciting part of my life!  I am toying with the idea of creating a Floss Tube channel so I can keep the stitching momentum going!!  I'll let you know if it comes to pass.

As this camping trip is starting to wind down
I am already excited about the next one!!
Take care and embrace your blessings!

  1. How fun that your met Marion so many years ago and now have reconnected. Isn’t it funny how people can float in and out and back into your life at different times.

Your stitchery is coming along nicely. Enjoy your quitter time...with exception of the rush/happy hour traffic!

    1. I have always said the world is smaller than you think and we are all connected in someway. Marion is a real gem :)

  2. Oh I like the idea of a Floss Tube channel. I also like your chicken friend as I have several, what I call "silly chicken" ornaments. They always make me smile. When I was a child on the farm, my Mothers friend gave her some fertilized duck eggs. My mother put the eggs with a chicken that wanted to set and she hatched several cute little ducklings.
There was only one problem, one day the chicken took all the ducklings to the dugout for a drink of water and they all slipped into the water and went swimming. The hen started running back and forth flapping her wings and squawking. A few minutes later the ducklings returned to shore and the chicken gathered them all up and took them back to the barn. She was the best mother hen ever !!

  3. I've found that a lot of quilters started as cross-stitchers or "discover" cross-stitching later on! They do seem to go hand-in-hand. I ordered the piece you are working on last week - I prefer small projects that I'll actually finish! Love the idea of a Floss Tube channel. I constantly send people to your You Tube channel and it's my go-to when trying to figure out how to do something.

  5. Anna, I'd LOVE it if you did a FlossTube channel. I just got back into cross-stitching recently.
I was in Phoenix in May and dropped your name at Attic Needlework and Olde World Quilt Shop. Both shops love you too. :)
