Holy Moley!!!

Holy Moley!!!  Who would have ever thought this would happen to me...a huge brain fart for sure!!!  I brought my stitching pillow...but, zero stitching.  I had packed up my cross stitch and an embroidery by Crabapple Hill... I am assuming that it is sitting on the counter at home.  It is a really weird feeling to have absolutely no stitching with me and I don't think this has ever happened!  I have felt a bit anxious but for the most part family time would have allowed little stitching anyway.  It's just that... it is like a stitcher's security blanket....

My days have been filled with birthdays, grandson time, Father's Day...more grandson time...and even more grandson time.  Yesterday grandson #1 and I  took the streetcar to OMSI which is the science museum and met up with grandson #2.

They romped around the various room playing
then the big guy went on a tour of the submarine.

Upstairs they had a huge Pixar exhibit...was very interesting and fun with lots of interactive displays.  This guy totally understood my anxiety about forgetting my stitching!

Tomorrow we have a zoo day and then it will be back over the mountain to rescue my stitching!!  Hope you at least are getting some stitching in!

  1. The Universe at work Anna. Decided you needed one less thing to do and to give you a Break from your busy schedule. Just enjoy the moment. I took a quilt pieced wheel from a pattern and making a chair pillow to use at my sewing m/c. Love those Grandkids.

  2. OH Anna, you are so cute....love the picture too. Have me laughing here, after just getting back from planting my Dad's annual containers for him. Poor guy had a small stroke after the 2 heart attacks and is now using a walker and having physical therapy to learn to walk again. He is blessed to still be here and hope he remembers that on his toughest days. Enjoy the memories you made with those grandsons and HAPPY STITCHING!!

  4. My sewing goes in first I can always buy clothes. I know it must be hard. Years ago before stitching I use to get into trouble so sewing has saved me I also feel closer to God. New friend enjoy those boys

  5. Hi Anna I am having grandchildren time too. What fun, we rent a condo in Florida for a week. We swim in the pool and in the ocean and just have a great time. My two sons one married and gave us the grands. The other son is a bachelor and the kids just about drive him crazy. I just laugh at him! I did remember to bring my stitching with me. Next Wednesday I will be headed to the PNW so excited about it.

I remember, when we lived in Bend, taking the kids as a school fieldtrip and sleeping inside OMSI! They made it soo fun for all of the kids... even the big ones! Bet the boys are having a great time with Grandma taking them all these fun places! ENJOY!!

  8. Yes Anna it is a security blanket. Its all about "what if". I never leave home for more than 1 night without stitching and a book. But seldom do I do either. Ha Ha love that picture of you !!

  9. Forgetting your project feels almost as alarming as forgetting your phone. I'm not sure why. I lived over half my life without taking a phone everywhere with me. Took my son to OMSI and the zoo while visiting my Mom one year. So fun! Of course that was probably over 30 years ago! Have fun with your grands. Time goes by way too fast.
