Blessed!

You guys are all the best friends in the world!!!  I received so many tips and suggestions that my problem with the fabric search is over!  The stitching community is so supportive!

Yesterday was a wonderful day, shopping at the Farmers Market, lunch with my youngest son and a visit to Acorns and Threads.  Where I intended to just pick up some thread for a project...wellllll....I came home with another project!  I need to be careful when I go in a quilt or cross stitch shop!

As I was walking down the South Park blocks I fell in love with the new display at the Portland Art Museum!

These banners are 2 stories tall!!!

I do have a love affair with France...my visits there have always filled my heart with memories.  I guess I had better finish my Eiffel Tower stitchery I have been working on for a few years, LOL

Just out of curiosity do any of you cross stitch and if so what are you working on?

  3. Yes, I do cross stitch also. At the moment though I am working on a redwork project but I have a pattern for Boat House Row in Philadelphia that I need to start plus an owl and several snowmen projects. Never enough time is there!?!?

  5. Cross stitching is part of why I dropped out of girls scouts. The other part was they wanted me to paint my nails...

  8. Yes I cross stitch. Just started a small witches hat that I will make into a pin cushion or pin keep to add to my other dozen pieces. They make great last minute gifts.

  9. I've finally taken a break from my quilting and started a new x stitch project from Told In A Garden, Family Treasure III. But as I was pulling my thread I discovered # 927 was a completely different color from the one I had wound on my bobbin. Did DMC change the color?? Maybe they're just messing with me!!!

  10. Cross stitch. Doing a large Merry Christmas for the second time. First one ended up in the trash before I was able to get it framed. Really like the cross stitch pattern.

  11. Many years ago I was obsessed with it. Then cataracts moved in. Now they are gone and I'm thinking about it again. I've got boxes of pattern books and everything I need to start again. It's time that is short supply. Fabric stash, quilt pattern stash, wool stash, so much I want to do......

  13. I do cross stitch, but the last few years I've been concentrating on my quilting to the neglect of any other stitching including knitting. I thought I'd get back to cross stitch this last long, cold winter, but stuck to my quilting. Now it's finally summer here so I'll be spending lots of time outside in my flower gardens. Maybe next winter....

  15. I cross stitch just like I quilt! My mind becomes so flooded with creativity that I can't even finish one project before going on to another. Therefore my word of the year is finish!
Currently I am working on a sampler that I started 15 years ago.

  16. I cross stitch, quilt and embroider. I have multiple projects going in all 3 at all times. So many ideas. I too cannot go into a quilt or stitchery store and not come out with fabric or a new stitching project. I love your blog and videos. Thank you for sharing your life and ideas. Long live Quilt Roadies!

  17. After 30 years of not doing counted cross stitch, I have picked up the art again. Currently working on Sue Hillis design of Sew Many Memories which is a Singer Featherweight machine. Flosstube is addicting and expensive to the pocketbook as you see so many new things people are doing with counted cross stitch. No, I am not participating in stitch maynia as I would never get 31 projects counted cross stitched in a year. Also love to do Gail Pan designs in regular embroidery and have some pillowcases that need embroidery. Just have too many hobbies in my semi-retirement but loving it.

  18. I have been cross stitching since I was a teen. Love seeing what you are working on. I've visited many of the designers you post about. I'm currently working on a Christmas pattern that I hope to finish by Christmas...just don't know what year!

  20. I used to do a lot of cross stitch and loved it - then I discovered quilting and haven't done any cross stitch since. I gave away most of my kits, but still have my embroidery threads - and one kit. Maybe someday!

  21. HI I cross stitch between projects as a way of calming my creative mind. The pattern is all done for me and all I have to do is stitch. I often think over my next design project as I go. I am working on a Charles Wysocki Town design. Love the quirky Americana.

  22. I used to cross stitch then started quilting and I embroider a ton and there just isn't time for it all. I would love a suggestion of an easy kit to do but don't really know the designers anymore and we don't have a local cross stitch shop.

  23. Hello Anna! So glad to hear you think you have found your fabric! I too love counted cross stitich. I am working on a picture called The Dolls House from Atlascraft in the united kingdom. It's a gorgeous picture of a look into a dollhouse filled with furniture! I lovely lady bought it for me as a gift when I did some miniature work for her, another passion of mine. Miniatures. So many loves to keep me busy! Oh my! Anything but drawing or painting. I have no talent there altho I wish I did! Envy those who do!

  26. yes I love cross stitching and just finished a piece in March. I made it into a pin keep. Because the 32 count is a challenge and 65 year old eyes are not as good as they used to be, I put 50 plus hours of stitching into this piece. Some might say I am crazy but it makes me happy!
I tried to attach a pic of finished project but alas no luck!
