I Like To Move It....

This could be my theme song lately!  I arrived home from retreat and have continued moving my projects off the UFO, WIP and PIG pile...to the done pile!!!  I think my girlfriends have inspired and encouraged me and so...I keep on stitching, LOL.

I finished a couple of birthday presents...one for a dear friend, a pillow made from the Northcott Pony Express fabric line.

The second one is for my sister but haven't taken a photo of it yet because I have decided to face the quilt rather than use a traditional binding.

My next quilting project is going to be a Sashiko Wallhanging I finished a while ago but have yet to layer and quilt.  I really feel like this retreat was like a breath of quilting energy and now i have got to Move it, Move It!!!

  1. I saw that sashiko piece in the the Quilt Show video and wondered if it was yours or a friends. Congratulations on all those finishe

Looking forward to seeing what you created for your sister!

That video is too cute, thanks for starting my morning off with a smile. Also woke up to blue skies here this morning which makes it even bigger!

  2. Wow, you got a lot done at retreat! You're so brave to machine quilt there. I try to take things I can do with a lot of distractions! I was also at retreat last week. I finished two quilt tops and made a couple zipper bags. It's so fun to go and hang out with my girlfriends. Love the sashiko quilt. I can't wait to see it quilted.
So now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head, lol. Maybe it will inspire me to Move it, Move it!

  3. Isn't it a good feeling to get things finished! I have been doing a challenge all year with my very best Australian quilting buddy, Meredithe (https://pomegranateandchintz.wordpress.com/) We have been working our way through 17 UFOs - I need to get my skates on for the last 2 months of the challenge!!

  4. I have been thinking about moving all mine into a box and forgetting about them for awhile. I just get overwhelmed and do nothing, so I think it is time for new projects that i will start and finish this time, then I can think about the rest later.
