Time (It's almost Give Away time)

Wow!  I woke up to the #249!!!  It is almost Give Away time!  click on the link and follow the directions.  Once I reach 250 I'll be sending out  this cute wooden bowl and wool kit to someone lucky!  I also am going to send out one of my favorite patterns to a second person.  I like to recycle my favorite patterns rather than let them gather dust.  There are some patterns I make more than one...but, for the most part once I have made something I am ready to move on to the next "must have" design!

Yesterday was a difficult day at work.  It wasn't so much the physical aspect...although Robin and I pushing and shoving a 200lb + bed (not including the weight of the patient) from other floors in the hospital down to the OR does have it's challenges (no transport team on the weekends)...but the emotional part.  All I can say is, there are a lot of people in the world who need your healing thoughts...and if you are praying sort, a prayer would be appreciated.  I know I have said before "Life" is a challenge and during these additional challenging times we must take the time and give a hug, we are not just individual but we are part of the human race.

I have an interesting day before me.  Last week I threw in the towel and realized I needed a couple of chairs in my living room.  I have the weirdest living room in Bend...and maybe the world!  It is narrow, with the couch at one end and the dining table at the other.  We only have 3 spaces on the couch to sit, otherwise it is the floor.  The ceiling is 28 ft tall.  Interesting choice by the builder, create more air space but not floor space.  Last week I went to a furniture store convinced a decorator to follow me home and help me figure out how to get just 2 more places to sit...just 2 more!  This morning I am heading back over there and dragging a chair home to see how it fits.  Wish me luck!  Why am I telling you this, cause this event has caused me to rearrange and clean and I found the most wonderful gem.  A cookbook made by my youngest son when he was in the 1st grade!  Each student contributed a recipe of two to the book!

Connor's Chicken Stroganoff

1 1/2 lb ground chicken or turkey
1 medium onion chopped
15 medium fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 lg container of low fat sour cream
4 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2-3 tbsp olive oil

Heat up oil and then cook ground chicken until it is not pink, chopping it into little pieces as it cooks.  Season with a little salt and pepper.  add chopped onion and mushrooms and cook until both are soft.  Add mushroom soup, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and mix thoroughly.  Lower heat to low and add sour cream.  Try not to let it boil, but if it bubbles a little that's ok.  Serve with pasta or rice.
