Flexibility Is The Word Of The Day....

I am having to be light on my feet these days as life has been in constant flux.  G is still in recovery mode...yep, a month later and he is still not fully recovered...and, has even had a set back or two.  I was up in Portland Friday to play with my sister who was in town. And, I had a wonderful day with family and friends.  My sweet grandson was enthralled by the sweet melody being played by my nephews oldest son.

Then late Friday, early Saturday I got a call that G wasn't feeling well.  So my sister and I packed up and headed back home.  And, boy was I glad we came home when we did because the weather moved in and we had winds that would ultimately blow down some trees...and a nice dump of snow.   This change in schedule meant my sister got to see my baby grandson.  I love this photo of him!

G was starting to feel a bit better so my sister and I decided to go to the movies.  We both enjoyed "Lady Bird"  We recognized some of the characters as people from our past.  I would highly recommend this movie...I think it will speaks to many.

While my sister hung out in The Bee Hive practicing her Yoga I layered a quilt and started quilting!  So  see...sometimes a change in plans can open up more fun!!!

Have a great day!

  1. How lucky to have a private violin concert!

We had some wild winds and sleety snowfall on Friday night also with our temps still hovering around freezing during the day.

Hope G is continuing to improve, this bug has really bit him bad!

Looks like Silas is going to be running around fairly soon!

  2. I took a workshop from Edyta Sitar a few years ago - if you ever have an opportunity, please take a class from her or go to her trunk show. It's amazing!!!

I learned from her to cut the big long rectangles into squares and then cut the squares into triangles. It made working much easier since you were working with smaller pieces. Also, when arranging the hst, take a photo with your phone so if they get mixed up, you can refer back to the photo on your phone. Just some tips I have learned. Thanks for a great video (again!) and tell G to get well soon!!!

  3. Hope G is on the mend. Love hearing about your weekend.

  4. Prayers for a final recovery for G. It has been a long road for him. Glad you got to spend time with your sis.

  5. So sorry to hear about G; but happy to hear you had some great "sister time". I never had a sister or a daughter and lost my sister from another mother in Oct. 2016 to ovarian cancer. Ok, enough negative....love the pic of your little one at the window! I can't believe that much time has passed already, that he is standing there by himself. They grow way too fast. God Bless.

  6. Sorry to hear that G is still feeling badly, the kids have been sick for weeks too, and now I feel horrid again. The flu keeps trying to get me, so hopefully I can fight this one off too.

  7. G get better soon! Baby Silas is really growing, isn't he? A whole new world is opening up to him. I do love your beehive and that quilt you are working on is adorable-love the anchors! Have a great week! Pam

  8. Egads what a long haul...get well G! Sorry about your illness! Rest of the blog, very fun..darling little guys! Super quilt, applauding the yoga girl! Thanks for your blog!!!

  9. It is funny how a change of plans can work out for the best. Good that you were home safe and sound.
