Quilt Respite + A Happy Birthday

Yesterday was a Quilt Respite...the definition of respite is a short period of rest or relief from something difficult or unpleasant.  And so, a definition of a Quilt Respite is a short period of rest or relief from something difficult or unpleasant...like cleaning or watching the news!  This group of friends and stitchers hasn't been able to get together for 2 months...2 months.  And, it was a respite for the soul..and it was great to catch up.  There were a couple of extra "friends" although they weren't interested in stitching, LOL.

I love this hand appliqued square that Pat was working on...what I liked was that she wasn't sure what she was going to do with it...maybe the center medallion for a larger quilt???  What freedom of discovery to stitch something and let it take on a life of it's own.

Nola is forever making wonderful quilt for others and she was binding the latest gift.  Quilting is such a wonderful medium to pass on the love.

Karen was knitting away with yarn she brought back from Ireland and me...well, I was stitching some wool.  Yep, a perfect day.  Then I rushed home because my Sweet 16 arrived and I can't wait to take it for a spin!!!

May you day be filled with friendship...a little thread...
and a lot of love.
Happy Birthday G...you are a blessing!
