Quilt Roadies + Give Away Winner!!!

The latest Quilt Roadies adventure was stop and go...literally!!!  It seemed Road Work was the buzz word and so traveling was slow enough to enjoy the scenery.  G is working away at editing the videos and they will be released this week.

We had a great time with Sally Frye in Fortuna and her shop Stitch in Ferndale is adorable!  The slide show of Stitch will be posted on Anna & G On The Road on October 12. And you can watch the interview with Sally Frye on Quilt Roadies.

After we left Ferndale we headed to Napa where my sister lives.  What a fun sister time and we even included the husbands, LOL.  Both our birthdays are in October and we celebrate together.  One of the stops was the oldest winery in Napa Valley, Nichelini.

My brother and Doug who is a 4th generation Nichelini have an interesting connection and their mother's are both from the same region in Switzerland!  Small world...we were treated like kings and queens and my sister brought a fabulous picnic to enjoy on the property.

The next day we headed to another winery that is a dear friend of mine uncle's.  If you have ever seen the movie Bottle Shock...that is where we were.

Since I was at my sis's house I took a couple of photos of quilts I have made that hang there.  This is one of my favorite Hawaiian Applique quilts.  I love how the black gives this quilt a pop!!!

My brother in law was a fireman and competed in the Police and Fireman International Olympics for several years, running the marathon.  I took a selection of his competition tee shirts and made him a quilt which hangs in his office :).

...and now for the winner of the Give Away sponsored by Rita of Reets Rags To Stitches...the winner is...Nancy B.!  now here is the deal...I have no way of contacting you so you have till Thursday to email me your address wooliemammoth1@gmail.com.  If I don't hear from you by Thursday morning the dog dish will cough up another winner :)  Have a great Tuesday and be sure to check out Anna and G on the Road on The Quilt Show tomorrow!

  1. Nothing wrong with a glass or two of vino to help unwind after a road trip filled with road construction. Oh heck, a glass or two of wine doesn't need an excuse to be enjoyed.

  3. Lovely Hawaiian appliqué Anna! Nice to see it against the black instead of traditional white.

I love Napa Valley, such good memories there. Your sister and brother-in-law are lucky to live there!

Road construction seems to be everywhere this year more than past years it seems. Enjoy your time at home again.
