Folk Fesitval & Give Away!!!

There are so many reason for me to be filled with gratitude.  And to remind myself I have started to make a practice of waking up each day and giving thanks before getting out of bed...and, you know what things feel less stressful.  Yesterday, I was so thankful to my friend Anne for initiating a small lunch group of stitchers.  Yes, stitchers who do not do any stitching but have lunch or breakfast together once a month.  It is great to just get together for conversation and girlfriend support :)  I encourage you to start one...it has an entirely different feel than getting together to stitch.

After lunch I headed back to Sisters because the Sisters Folk Festival was ramping up!  A full weekend of music that brings music lovers from all over.

The kick off event was held at the Sisters ArtWorks.  Loved being with a couple of my boys :) I know that some people would roll their eyes at my next thoughts but when I see young students writing and singing their own music I feel better about the world...there is hope.

I was so surprised when I picked up my mail after our last adventure and one of my table mates at the Crabapple Hill sent me some wonderful patterns!!!  Tina is the owner of Bittersweet Quilt Shop in Michigan.  Her shop is located in a beautiful refurbished church...stained glass and all! And is on my bucket list Quilt Roadie trip hopefully next year!   Tina said that they carry all of Lori Moore's patterns.  Thank you so much Tina!!!  so to celebrate the upcoming season and to share the booty I am doing a Give Away of the Autumn Greeting.  It is a wool pattern but if you wanted to applique I think you could do that also!  Be sure to check out Tina's shop website...it is awesome.  She also has a quilting retreat place close to the shop which you can reserve for your next quilt retreat!

If you are interested in this Give Away just leave your comment on this post and please be a registered follower of the Woolie Blog :)  Have a great weekend and we'll see you next week!

That autumn Greetings pattern is also cute, love that corn stock growing out of the pumpkin. I'm mot familiar with Lori's designs a. I'll have to go and Cher them out.

Enjoy the festival over the weekendM

  3. I would love to have this pattern - I don't have many autumn quilts (maybe 1 or 2) so it would be a welcome addition. I've been to Bittersweet Quilt Shop and it is a lovely shop. Hope you get here next year - there's a town called Frankenmuth not far from Pinconning...the town is very much like Leavenworth AND it has a quilt shop AND the world's largest Christmas ornament store (Bronner's). Love your videos!!

  9. Anna I had surgery last week on my right hand so don't enter me in the giveaway. It's going to be months before I'm back to normal. But I wanted to say thank you anyway for your generous heart. Generosity is a reflection of the love found inside. Blessings, Marlene

  13. Giving thanks before rising is a great way to start the day! Got together with friends earlier today and made birthday cards, tonight getting some stitching time and listening to music from a reception down the street and watching the Iowa State vs Iowa football game and The Hawkeye's are kicking some booty.
