Spread Your Wings

The winner of the Give Away sponsored by Buttermilk Basin is Ruth Ott.  Send me your address and I will drop it in the mail.

Oh it has been a busy week filled with wonderful family and friends.  I feel summer slipping through my fingers how about you?!  Sisters is filled with people trying to capture those wonderful last moments of summer...me too...yesterday I spent the day just hanging with friends.  We chose to meet for breakfast and created an event.  No rushing, just sitting outside and enjoying each others company.  It was wonderful to relax and not have a goal for the day :)  I remembered that my word for 2016 was Kindness and I decided to be kind to myself!

I love this quote...every so often I need to open my wings and shake out the cobwebs in them.  Are you using your wings???

I have been inspired over and over again this week to try my wings...sometimes it is scary.  On Wednesday the Berries met at Ginn's house for a lovely lunch and afternoon of stitching.  Ginn is one of those people who uses her wings often. What I came away with my time spent at Ginn's house is that sometimes you need to create time...allow more fresh air in your world...listen to nature...spread and shake those wings out and see what comes out of your quilting soul.  Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the slide show. Have a relaxing weekend!

  1. Ginn does beautiful work, and my wings would definitely love to fly over that gorgeous River! Is that a local creek or tributary of the Metolius? Darn it, your blogs are pulling me ever closer to a Sisters visit! Thanks for sharing.

  4. That looks like a beautiful place to get together and unwind. We all need to take days for ourselves and rediscover ourselves and our creative sides.

  9. LOVE the chairs quilt! That Juniper has quite the personality(s), I found faces in its rough bark. I especially love the emerging bulbous nose!
