Material Girls Show 'n Tell and 2015 Challenge Quilts

The Material Girl gathering was wonderful!
Before the Challenge Reveal there was Show 'n Tell.

Mary likes to hand quilt but no longer wants to hand quilt a large quilt so is doing it in sections!  Then will put the sections together...so clever!

Teri finished a sweet baby quilt.

Last week we showed you Max's quilt and now here is his twin brother
Joseph's quilt made by DeDe

Marilyn is done with her Non-Woolie Woolie Challenge 5 months before it is due!  Stunning!!!

Catherine made this adorable raw edge circle quilt...so bright and cheery.

Kay's mini paper and cotton quilt!

Catherine found this adorable stitchery at an estate sale for Marilyn...
cause she is a cowgirl.

Marilyn was making some bright YoYo's...
can't wait to see where she is going to use these :)

And here is the project I was stitching.  It will ultimately be a pillow for my sister.  I just need to finish appliqueing the butterfly and then figure out how to make pipping :)

Yesterday was the reveal of the 2015 Quilt Challenge.  Once a year the group picks a challenge quilt idea and we have a year to create a quilt...size does not matter...only rule is it must meet the theme of the challenge and you have to quilt it yourself :) This years theme was baskets.  The quilts are numbered and then we vote for which one we think it numbero uno.  We had a wonderful potluck and enjoyed each others company.  Next years challenge is the Napkin Challenge.  We will find a napkin, paper or fabric and then create a quilt that is influenced by the napkin :)

Enjoy the show and maybe your group will want to challenge each other :)

  1. Wonderful basket challenge Anna. They are all just great ideas. It reminds me I have a basket block swap to put together.

Your butterfly sashiko is going to be lovely.
