Quilt! Knit! Stitch! to make debut in Portland
Quilts, Inc. announces new show for 2014

HOUSTON – May 22, 2013 – International Quilt Festival presents Quilt! Knit! Stitch!

The new annual show will debut August 14-16, 2014 (with Preview Night August 13) at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.  Quilts, Inc., produces several editions of International Quilt Festival around the country, but the addition of Quilt! Knit! Stitch! recognizes the diversity of needle arts practitioners in the Pacific Northwest.

Quilt! Knit! Stitch! will feature exhibitor booths, quilts and fabric art on display, and many educational opportunities on the show floor.  But what will set it apart from the International Quilt Festivals currently held in Cincinnati, Chicago, Long Beach, and Houston will be a great emphasis across the board on needlearts like knitting, embroidery, crocheting, cross-stitch, tatting, and sewing.

“We’ve seen a large and growing interest in these areas at our shows. And many artists – often younger than our traditional demographic – are experimenting with them. At the same time, they are either dipping their feet into quilting or starting to learn how to quilt,” notes Karey Bresenhan, Founder and Director Emeritus of Festival.

“As a company, we are excited to take on this new challenge in producing Quilt! Knit! Stitch!” Bresenhan sums up. “And we are looking forward to producing a knockout experience for our attendees!"

  3. Happy for you, but sad for us in So Cal. It is, indeed, replacing the Long Beach show, at which I just dropped a considerable number of coins a week ago. I am a tad happy for me though, because we still have Road2CA in January and PIQF in October. Road is a great show, maybe even better than Long Beach, as it comes after the bustle of the holidays. A good time to refocus on projects!

  4. When I get to work this Monday, I am going to put in my request for vacation for those days. Wow! Those three activities are right up my alley. I wonder if I can get a tattoo with those 3 words?
