Jibber Jabber Thursday...GIVE AWAY, Last Day to Sign Up!

Hello those from the Midwest...hang on to your quilts!  One of the Fabric Stalkers is in Nebraska riding out the storms on her family ranch.  As for us here in Central Oregon we have had a very rainy morning...resulting in a very windy day...and ending with a beautiful rainbow!

I spent some time this afternoon getting organized for my latest project from Simply Put Plus.  I did all the cutting and stacking of each spool.  Tomorrow morning it is going to be chain piecing time!

We continue to unpack and discover hidden treasures.  I made this Irish chain for our 20th Anniversary.  Now you would think that making a quilt for your anniversary would make it the most memorable anniversary...but not because of this quilt.   What made our 20th anniversary memorable is we went for a hike and the trail was comprised of crushed lava rock...rock which after a half mile of walking I slipped and fell down on...tearing the tendons in my left ankle.  The sound those tendons made sounded like a breaking bone.  Problem...how to get back to the car.  The trail was up and down which made hopping on one foot dangerous...I was in so much pain that I couldn't even put one toe to the ground...so I crawled...crawled while laughing at how ridiculous I must look.  There was no way I was going to have HH call my employer to send the rescue team out...so I crawled half a mile!  I couldn't stop crying and laughing. HH was beside himself and I told him that if a mountain biker came upon us he was to say I was crawling around looking at the flora and fauna of the forest.  By the time we got to the ER...as you can imagine...I was covered from head to toe in dirt.  My friends in the ER tied a balloon to my foot as an anniversary gift and off to X-ray I went.  We had to cancel our anniversary dinner reservation at the Pine Tavern and I was on crutches for a few weeks.  This year will be our 36th anniversary...and guess what, we are not going hiking, lol.

It has scalloped edging

  6. I can so empathize....in 2009 we were on a "hike" that I wanted to go on....hubby let go of a branch and in ducking it, I ended up slipping into a gully with my feet under me....double spiral fracture of my left ankle! Ended up walking the 1.5 mile out of there holding onto (breaking!) hubby's hand and a branch as a cane! Kept trying to convince myself it wasnt broken (HA!) 3 months off of work.....

  9. Would love to win your give away. The toilet in your previous post reminded me of the ones in Europe. Just returned today from 3 weeks in Europe and the toilets were always a major deal. Where to find one and how much to pay to use them. At least when you have to pay they are cleaned by the little lady taking the money.
