Give Away +

I wanted to clarify this Give Away because from a couple of emails I thought some of you may have thought this was a poster...not...this is a piece of fabric in which a replica of the poster is printed on, and is a little bigger than a piece of binder paper.  It would be perfect as a medallion quilt piece, a pillow, bag or even framed.  So if you are interested in winning be sure that you are a registered follower and leave a comment on this post !

Yesterday when I was weeding through the piles of mail that had stacked around here I came across the latest copy of American Patchwork and Quilting.  The theme...Fall...Halloween...yikes!  Here it is August, but in the quilting world that means you had better start thinking about Fall and Christmas!!!

Remember...one of the goals I had this year was to make most of my presents!  I think I am going to putz around the sewing room this afternoon after my swimming classes and think about what I plan on finishing before the holidays.  I pulled this photo out of my files from Woolie Follower, "Cornwoman" who made this as a gift and then filled it with wonderful self care items!  She ALWAYS has great ideas!  How about you...do make presents or buy presents???

  1. I try to make as many of our gifts, birthday AND Christmas, as possible. In January I made one of these in pink ballerina fabric out of scraps that a guild friend gave me (one of the pieces was just large enough for the outer fabric and I sewed 2 scraps together for the lining) for another of my DGD, and our DD loved it so much that she put in a request for me to make one twice the size for her Christmas gift! lol So now I'm looking for some novelty fabric with a medical or nursing theme.

I still would love to win the Sisters "poster" fabric....

  3. I try to make our Christmas presents with what I have on hand, and always include it with a tin or box of homemade goodies. I feel something to munch/eat is good, along with a seasonal tablerunner, wall hanging, ect., is always appreciated more by my family and friends than smething store bought. Besides, I don't get along well in crowds! Hugs to you and Enzo. Its bath day for Minnie and Monty. Funny thing, they are water dogs-yellow labs, but do not like baths! Go figure!!

  7. I would love to win the fabric poster. I guess I should have bought one when I was up there. Do not plan on making Christmas gifts this year though I do plan to finish a quilt for my youngest son's birthday in February . Does that count?
