1st Friday at QuiltWorks & Countdown to the Give Away

The First Friday At QuiltWorks had amazing quilts.  I went earlier in the afternoon so as to avoid the crowds and thus get better photos.  With so much going on this weekend it was hard to pick and choose which events one could fit into the ever bulging calendar.  I think I have given up on going to the Deschutes County Fair even though I always enjoy every bit of it...something had to give...between the Flashback Cruz...which we love, 1st Friday, the Fair, Sunriver Quilt Show and BJ's BOM class...locally we are busting at the seams!

The 1st Friday exhibit included local quilter Joan Metzger whose quilts are amazing.  Not only in their construction but in the variety of techniques.  You can tell she really loves it ALL!  Joan retired to Sunriver where there is a plethora of quilt genius and in no time at all, she is one of the gang.

There is so much to love about the Modern Quilt Guild and with a chapter in Central Oregon anyone who is interested can get involved. They meet twice monthly and you can contact QuiltWorks for info.   The second display featured not only Central Oregon's Modern Quilt Guild but also Portland's.   It seems quilting is hip in Portland! lol  Modern quilts really challenge one's design abilities and this show displays a nice variety of techniques, designs and quilts.

Well, there will be a few more slide shows over the next couple of days...Enjoy...and don't forget this is the last 24 hours to participate in the Give Away .  You must be a registered follower and leave a comment on the post linked above.  Have a great Sunday!!!
