...And The Winner Is...!!! Plus The 2011 Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show

Using the Random Number Generator Mary was chosen as the 1st winner of a Woolie give away!  There will be future Give Aways...I am thinking maybe when we reach 150 followers...so, pass the word around to your fellow quilters...or family members who just want to understand your obsession! LOL...to sign up as a follower of the Woolie!  This has been so fun for me!  Mary, send me your mailing address something fun is coming your way!  And my wish for you is that this will be the first of many Halloween projects.

I'm a follower and if I won, this would be my FIRST Halloween project!

....and now for the 2011 Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show!  What an amazing event!  I have so many funny stories but, they'll have to be spread out over several conversations because this blog would end up being a mile long!  Today, I'll just let you enjoy the show.  I did NOT take a photo of every quilt...there were 1300 quilts hanging in the show...my photo card would only hold around 160 photos.  I did however try to give you a sense of what it is like to be here, some single shots of quilts and a few close ups of some of the quilting.  Of course I had to include the people...because, without them life wouldn't be as rich!  Sisters is a town of about 2,000 residents and they opened their streets, stores, parks, restaurants and hearts to an additional 12,000 people!  It is a non profit event which costs over $140,000 to put on and is FREE to attend.  A future blog will talk about how you can help this fabulous event continue.  In the meantime, for those you who couldn't make it or if you are like me...want to see the quilts again...enjoy the slide show!  But get a big cuppa coffee!

  14. Well I remember a couple of year where a thunder storm broke loose in the late afternoon...the Quilt Rescue Team headed by Clyde rushes around and takes them all down. I recall seeing Jean blow drying a quilt corner that got alittle damp. The Quilt Show organizers treat those quilts like they were their own!
